Works okay, rope needs improvement.
It’s a decent set of pulleys. The rope and lifting straps are nice and everything feels well made. Not sure about the performance of the upper range but I used it to lift 200 lbs. My issues were that the pulley block would twist or the rope would pop out of the pulleys. A different rope might perform better. The pulley block came with a twisted nylon rope and a braided rope might be better. It could also be that the rope just needs some use to help make it more flexible and less twisty.

Works well enough for the price.
This a simple pulley set. The way that it comes configured is as a 7:1 ratio. I tested it with about 100lb of load and was able to lift it up with about 18.5 or so on the pull rope, This ends up being about 5.4:1 ratio due to the inefficiency of the basic pulleys in this set. They are just plain wheels running on the axles with no bearings. With 65ft of rope, you can extend the block about 8ft or so from the tackle and still have something to pull with.
The included lifting straps are nice, but don’t fit the very small hooks in the pulleys, you need a shackle or carabiner. I tested it with a 1/2″ shackle and that seems to be about as large as what would fit in the hook.
The included rope is soft and seems strong enough for the job. It does tend to twist. I would be comfortable pulling anything less than 1000lb with it. Any more than this and it would be very difficult to do by hand due to the inefficient pulleys.
Its a good value for the price, since it includes a pair of straps as well.

This block and tackle set is made of steel plates with poly pulleys. There are two heavy duty hooks with safety latches so your load will stay hooked. They load the set with 65 feet of 3/8” rope and the set can lift up to 4000 pounds. Included with the block and tackle is two 1” straps for rigging and hanging the set.

I’m not sure I would try to lift 4 tons with it based on the pulleys and the straps it came with, but it is really stout. I’d use that as more of a maximum strength and not a safe working load. The cord is not a cheap cord like some use, but a decent quality. The pulleys run smoothly.

Heavy lifting made easy
I needed to replace the rear axle/transmission on my lawn tractor and jack stands got in the way. This block and tackle set made it easy to lift and secure the back end of the tractor so I could remove the axle.
It was way too heavy for one person to lift by hand, but after securing one side of the block and tackle to a rafter and the other to the rear of the tractor I could easily lift the tractor off its axle, the tie off the rope to secure it. Lowering it back on was just as easy.
The kit comes with the block and tackle pulleys, a long nylon rope to use for lifting, and two straps for securing the ends of the pulleys… everything you need to make it work.
For heavier jobs where more reliability is needed I’ll probably replace the rope with a quality climbing rope, but the kit is adequate for most work just as it comes.

I used this to pull a wood framed wall back into level. Couldn’t have done it with out this. Mechanical advantage is an amazing thing. People say that aliens built the pyramids… I say they were build using lots of pulley systems. You can lift a car with this if needed. Couple it with a gear driven ratchet and you don’t need to use much brute strength at all. Work smarter, not harder.

Good pulley hoist system for the money, just not built very heavy duty.
This kit isn’t bad, but long term use probably might post an issue. The steel of the area that holds all the pulleys in seems really thin, the rope is ok “new” but once used some, its going to become an issue of overall strength so may need to upgrade to some better rope long term.

The block and tackle pulley system is not too bad however as the bearings are not present in the pulleys the system does tend to want to filter itself sideways while pulling on the rope I personally would highly recommend if you’re going to buy this product to disassemble the assembly and put some type of plastic safe Grease on the inners of the pulley and the shaft to help mitigate that problem

If you’ve never used a block and tackle before you may want to watch a video. After you know how it is supposed to work it really works very well and simply. My use was to hoist my Thule roof box up off the floor and against the wall of the garage. I had to get one large screw-in ring to attach to the joist in the garage, but then I just clipped on the one end, looped the straps under the box and pulled. I also used a rope attacher-thing on the wall like on a flag pole to loop the rope on. Easy to use. Very strong. Small enough to do the job, and big enough to tackle the issue. I thought it was a bit pricey when ordering, but it’s pretty reasonable for the quality. I can recommend.
